The Dead Lands (2014) is a New Zealand action-adventure film set in pre-European Māori times, following Hongi, a chieftain's teenage son who seeks revenge after his tribe is massacred by a rival warrior. To avenge his father, Hongi must enter the forbidden "Dead Lands" to form an alliance with a legendary "Warrior".
